The schema theory, which was established by Jean Piaget in 1926, is the framework and organization of the mind. According to this theory, the brain categorizes and arranges information it receives at different times. In 1981, Brewer and Treyen conducted an office experiment aimed at studying schema theory. This experiment involved examining participants' memory for objects in an office that they had previously worked in. The findings revealed that the participants' "office schema" did influence their ability to remember. Objects that were expected, such as pens, paper, and staples, were remembered more effectively.

The study by Bartlett (1932) investigated reconstructive memory and its ability to store meaningful information. Participants in the study read War of the Ghosts and were later asked to recall the story at different time intervals - minutes, days,

months, and years. The findings revealed that objects that were frequently used were easier for memory to recall. However, unexpected objects were often not remembered at all. As participants recalled the story over time, it became condensed, more organized, typical, and trite.

In his conclusion, it was determined that memory is reconstructive, with individuals attempting to mold memories to fit their personal schema. One of the major strengths of this research is that it was among the first to focus on complex memories, providing evidence for reconstructive memory and inspiring further investigation in the field. The use of schema theory in psychology is somewhat inconsistent, as each patient may possess a different type of schema. However, despite this variability, schemas are still highly valuable. Based on the aforementioned studies, it is my belief that schema theory exists in every
