Physical pain infliction on a person as punishment for a crime is known as corporal punishment. These punishments take many forms includingflogging, beating and blinding. Corporal punishment also means the physical disciplining of children at home and school.Ancient Babylonian law come-up with the principle of Corporal punishment, this law asserted that criminals should be inflicted with the same injuries they had brought upon their victims. From 18th century, this form of punishment was commonly used in instances that didn’t require death penalty or for exile. be enhanced for better results of the same. Additionally striking, flogging or amputating people are not constructive forms of punishment.

Corporal punishment is also unnecessary and counter- productive.There is a huge amount of evidence that suggests that corporal punishments makes way for low self-esteem, violence, and serious psychological issues if inflicted in children it will affect them even in adult hood this is also the same with the adults. It is also evident that spanking leads to lower IQ scores in children. This type of punishment is also counterproductive in that children undergoing this are likely to misbehave more than the ones who are not punished this way. In conclusion, this type of punishment should not be allowed in any quarters of life because it is not beneficial to anyone the inflicted or the society it is also barbaric and outdated (Durrant437-455).
