Eucharistic leader volunteer at Our Lady of Vietnamese Church Essay Example
I have decided to look ahead to a productive future that is going to benefit society. Depression, self-pity, disillusionment over the past are all behind me.
My mother might have deserted me at the age of five , my uncle might have chosen to exploit me of my finances, my struggles in the home front have disturbed my education and to top it all, my boyfriend has ditched me after seven years. . The financial, emotional and psychological problems in my life have had the positive impact of making me a person who would not give up and I am going to succeed in this Doctor of Pharmacy program in Mercer’s University by giving the course my all, thereby making my small contribution to the welfare of society. This is an expression of my gratitude to the Almighty, for His guiding spirit that h
...as stood by me in the face of all my troubles. There are a rising number of citizens with infections and diseases all over the world.
As a conscientious citizen, I will volunteer and take advantage of this opportunity to aid the poor by giving accurate drugs and search for drug advancements, after I attain a profession.in pharmacy Having decided on the future career path I have been spending time studying about the role of pharmacy and the significant part played by the pharmacist in the world. I was fascinated by the details I could gather. Particularly, the statements of Noel Wilkin, assistant professor of Pharmacy administration at the university of Mississippi where he has focused more on the treatment than in just the dispensing and preparation of the product, and the words of Joh
Kans president and chief executive officer of the president and chief executive officer of the Washington-based American Pharmaceutical Association, who has highlighted the degree of involvement on the part of the pharmacist regarding the patient ,in today’s world ,contrasted with what there was twenty years ago, have reinforced my desire to get specialized knowledge and expertise in this field.
"The major reason is that today, drug therapy is far more complex and comprehensive and challenging to use. We use it far more aggressively and we use it far more often. It has become a primary form of treatment. Where in the past, hospitalization and surgery were more the primary forms of treatment, today it is drug therapy.""They're influential just like physicians are influential.
" says Bob Sikora, education consultant for Pfizer. Pharmacists are said to be motivators, educators, monitors and guides who show people the right path. Moreover, the facts highlighted in the article ‘New tool to enhance the role of pharmacist in Health Care’ published by the WHO, where the pharmacist has been spoken of as a “care-giver, teacher, lifelong learner, leader and manager” seemed to sum up all my beliefs in the pharmacist’s role in the current scenario. At George Perimeter College, I had the opportunities to take a number of distance learning courses online and perform very well.
My motivation made me do well in all these self learning courses. Right now, I am in the midst of many friends who are in this field and have considerable exposure to current needs. I had been working as an untitled pharmacist technician at Family Pharmacy and Eckerd Pharmacy where I have interacted with the patients as well
as the Pharmacist. I had also volunteered at Eagles ton Children Hospital as a helper/translator.
I am no longer muddled by personal problems and my focus is on my professional improvement. I have a greater purpose in life and that is precisely why I have chosen to pursue my career in Pharmacy. My service as a Eucharistic leader volunteer at Our Lady of Vietnamese Church has convinced me that it is my duty to reach out and extend my services to others, especially the less privileged .Part1 .A [Georgia]Participation in Mercers Doctor of Pharmacy degree program is ideally suited to my temperament because I am most impressed especially by four aspects of the core values of this Institution-that of “Integrity, caring, commitment and professionalism”.
I have been a victim of a lack of the first three. I am a speck in the Universe and my experience has made me realize that there are millions of people who are in need of genuine care and who face greater trauma in life. There is no better avenue of bestowing this except in this field of health care, especially if one has the aptitude for it. While I have all the humane aspects that the profession of pharmacy calls for, technically enhanced knowledge in drug therapy can only be provided by superior faculty, hands on experience, experiments and scholarly advancement. My long term goal is to be a pharmacist who is patient-centered – to work with the patient and other health-care providers, to promote health, prevent disease and assess, monitor, initiate, and modify medication use, to ensure that drug therapy regimens are safe and effective In this University I am sure
to get a systematic training and enhanced knowledge about the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and the rational selection of drugs; and to be taught to achieve excellence in patient -centered care and research I need to be effectively trained as to how one should cultivate and demonstrate professional maturity to patients and other health professionals. The statement that Georgia “Encourages diversity and adheres to the values of the University’s Judeo-Christian heritage while respecting the pluralistic values of our society,” has appealed the most to me.
I am confident that this program would improve my interpersonal skills and breadth of vision and provide me with service and interactive opportunities that would aid my self improvement as a person. This particular field is a totally service oriented field and makes better human beings of us, by fostering elevated qualities like compassion and love for fellowmen., .I am a firm believer, that when God closes one door, He always opens another. My personal life wrecked me, but my professional excellence and success in Mercer’s University would help me fulfill my, mission in life.
My only aim in life is similar to that of Leigh Hunt’s Abou Ben Adhem, to love and to care for my fellowmen and Mercers University would be the guardian angel carrying the beacon in my path towards this goal. Part2.. Participation in Nova Southeastern UniversityMy education at Nova Southeastern University would facilitate my training in this institute for the following reasons. I am extremely certain that my spirit of inquiry and aptitude in the field of drug therapy would find an appropriate outlet in the educational environment of this university.
There is an onerous responsibility cast on
the pharmacist and only knowledge and exposure can help him overcome all obstacles cast in the name of doubts. The rigorous training which is offered in this school where there is greater scope for interaction and expert guidance, with the class being small, would certainly benefit me; help me chart out a successful career path for myself. The heterogeneous mix of students that I am likely to mix with during the course of my curriculum would smoothen the rough edges of my personality and improve my interpersonal skills. I am very keen on being a pharmacist because I like the people-oriented attitude that is called for in this profession.
. I have come to know that in this college there is great team work where students get together to solve problems and that faculty have an open door policy to meet with students on a regular basis This feeling of connecting with other persons is most soul-satisfying and I am positive that by the time I finish my training here I would have not only acquired expertise and knowledge in this field [aided by the Faculty I am likely to be guided by] but I would have also learnt interpersonal skills which hold the key to success in a pharmacist’s career.PTO.Dear student,I am sending you the statement and now, please read the following carefully.Instructions.I have written ‘part 1’ ‘part2’, and also the start of the paragraph in bold letters-this is for your convenience .Kindly remember to modify the bold letters.Do not change the introduction in the first part of the essay and conclusion in the Mercer’s [Georgia]—the introduction must be brief, concise and direct.
