Are women still degraded In today's society? From what I have experiences and seen myself there are many ways that women are being degraded or turned down for being women.

In the story Feminist Manifesto by Mina LOL, she tells us how women need to stand up for ourselves and give women a higher status. On the other hand in the story There Was Once by Margaret Atwood where she actually degraded the protagonist because she was using strong words to describe the "girl". I believe that women should have their own right to do or say anything.

Women should have equal Hansen at opportunities of life. In the two stories authors encourage female equality in very different ways.

LOL tries to get her point through in a very sexual way & Atwood merely trie

s to describe the female in a descriptive way on the outside. Many people hear what they want to hear when they say or read feminist manifesto. They think it's only a gender issue. There is so much more to that then Just a war between female and male. People need to consider sexual roles, rights, and the abilities of a person.

The urge to become something or do something that will Impact should tater.

With all the delimitation females get, It holds back from them realizing their full potential as a human. I think choices and having options plays a big role as well. Women shouldn't hesitate to say what they want to say especially about themselves. This raves another argument about the idea of differences between male and female.

People are going to say they are men

there's a reason to why they are men. Men are supposed to pay or supposed to be gentle man and do certain things.

There definitely real differences between male and female when It comes to race, age ND sex_ Females shouldn't be Judged on their career decisions. The stereotype of only males being engineers and females being teachers should be cut out.

Females can wear blue and males shouldn't be Judged wither when wearing pink. Unfortunately inequalities exist everywhere that target women especially ones with different religious beliefs, race, sexual preferences and wealth. The authors emphasize on all these matters In difference ways through their stories.

In the story There Was Once, the narrator Is being cut off Just because of the descriptive words she uses to describe the girl. It gets confusing sometimes because at times she puts down the girl and sometimes she tells the girl to fix her attitude and describe the girl in a womanly manner. Towards the end of the story the narrator gets to the part where the girl is living with her step mother, "Better.

But I am so tired of negative female Images!... " The narrator was saying how the stepmother was wicked and wasn't a very loving person.

In society the stepmothers always get dirt thrown on them because fairytale taught us that stepmothers are evil.

"There was once a girl who was a little overweight and whose front teeth stuck out, who-" . Society portrays us females to be beautiful and flawless. We, women have flaws, we all don't have that hourglass body. Some of us are under weight and some overweight.

We all don't

have the shiny long hair, or a beautiful perfect white smile. In my prospective and in my understanding I believe that this story has so much manifesto that society portrays us to be.

In the Mina Loss, Feminist Manifesto, she commercial careers are opening up for- Is that all you want? ". LOL wants females do be more than a female worker in a field. A field where men will still get paid more just because of their gender status? LOL wants to pursue the fact that women can do so much more in life. So much where they can out shine men and their contributions.

"To obtain results you must make sacrifices & the first and the greatest sacrifice you have to make is your "virtue. By virtue she means the way we act, our behavior where we show high standards.

Sometimes you have to lower your standards to achieve something. LOL made another really strong point about females and marriage. ".

.. Compared to all other trades- for under modern conditions a woman can accept preposterously luxurious support from a man (without the return of a sort- even offspring) - as a thank offering for her virginity'. Here LOL is trying to say that women are known for possibly giving up their virginity and having babies. That once women get married they live off their husband's earning.

They are being supported by their husbands for the rest of their life that they are married.

She also says that the value of a women is depended on chance. That even behind a woman's success there is a man who is responsible for her. LOL wants

women to be independent and bring themselves into the light of success all by themselves and without the need of man. But at the same time LOL wants a woman to be a woman! To take care of her children. Woman should be more responsible than their husband.

Although woman should destroy themselves to be loved. Through pregnancy and doing all the house labor it kills the body image of a female.

Females must go through all that to be loved. " The feeling that it is a personal insult when a man transfers his attention from her to another woman". No woman wants her husband leaving her for another woman.

Sometimes woman have to sacrifice their desires to hold a family together. The desire for comfortable protection instead of an intelligent curiosity & courage in meeting & resisting the pressure of life sex or so called love must be reduced to its initial element, honor, grief, sentimentality, pride and & consequently Jealousy must be detached from it.

Woman for her happiness must retain her deceptive fragility of appearance, combined with indomitable will, irreducible courage, & abundant health the outcome of sound nerves-? Another great illusion is that woman must use all her introspective and clear-sightedness & unbiased bravery to destroy-?for the sake of err self-respect is the impurity of sex the realization in defiance of superstition that there is nothing impure in sex-?except in the mental attitude to it-?will constitute an incalculable & wider social regeneration than it is possible for our generation to imagine. Locums this up by wrapping up the feminist manifesto by saying as much a woman wants to have a

higher status then woman they have to worry about their household and family. One day there will be a world where girls aren't associated with pink and boys with blue.

A world where women can be independent with a family and no one will bash her.
