Problem statement Men’s Wearhouse is a specialty retailer of men’s tailored business clothing. Since its first store in early 1980s, it had developed rapidly till current hundreds of stores nationwide. Men’s Wearhouse developed its own culture, management theories and practices; however, the external environment of this industry is fiercely competitive. So the strategic issue in this case is how Men’s Wearhouse could keep high-paced development in this stagnant industry.

    Provide high-end or limited edition merchandise

    • Buy some famous designers’ designs and develop a high-end line. It should be discussed and approved by the board of directors, then enforced by designing department.
    • Sell the newly designed clothing in store, which should be done by the sales people. People are always willing to pay more for good designs, and high-end merchandise will attract more new customers for us.
