While driving southbound on Hoover Rd., I was in my parents' brown 1974 Ford Grand Torrio Elite, a gift from them for my previous birthday. I adored this massive steel car for around ten months, falling in love with everything about it - the flawless, dark brown glossy body and the tan mint condition interior. Normally, driving this car felt like a heavenly experience, as if I were effortlessly gliding along the road. However, that day was different; there was something peculiar about the foggy atmosphere surrounding me. It felt like all my senses had disappeared, leaving me unable to control my actions or emotions.
Despite it being 7:30 in the morning, outside seemed as dark as midnight. A sense of foreboding loomed over me; I instinctively knew something terrible
...was about to happen. Realizing I was late for Calculus class at the high school added urgency to my situation. The feeling compelled me to slightly increase my speed every few hundred yards until I found myself racing down the long stretch of asphalt at roughly seventy miles per hour.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, a large black dog darted across the road right in front of me. Panic set in as I slammed on the brakes and desperately tried to avoid hitting the helpless animal. Unfortunately, despite my efforts, I clipped its rear end and lost control of my car which ended up upside down in a ditch.
I thought my beloved car had met its end, but it turned out to be just a dream. In a rush, I woke up to my mother's urgent call and realized it was all in my head. Relieved, I got
dressed quickly and left the house without breakfast. Still shaken by the terrible dream, I hurried to the car and drove to pick up my friend. He was already outside, shaking his head disapprovingly. He scolded me for being late and reminded me that we would be tardy for school. Apologizing, I explained that oversleeping was due to the worst dream ever. On our way to school, we discussed the previous weekend while keeping in mind our time constraint. To ensure safety, I made sure to follow the speed limit along Hoover Rd.
