What is White House Staff?
The White House staff is a group of individuals employed by the President of the United States and the Executive Office of the President. The staff’s primary responsibility is assisting and providing advice to the President in all aspects of his or her duties, from policymaking to media relations. The White House staff consists of several hundred people, most of whom are divided into departments or offices headed by a Cabinet Secretary or Deputy Chief of Staff.The White House Office is composed of several divisions that focus on different areas, including domestic and economic policy, communications, scheduling and advance, management and administration, legislative affairs, national security personnel and resources, records management and correspondence analysis. Additionally, some organizations have a presence within the White House Office such as the National Security Council (NSC), Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ), Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and more. All these divisions work together in order to help ensure that all Presidential policies are properly implemented across government agencies.The West Wing houses many other organizations that play a crucial role in developing Presidential policy initiatives as well as organizing events for foreign dignitaries visiting Washington D.C., including: The National Security Council; Office of Public Engagement; Homeland Security Council; Domestic Policy Council; Economic Policy Council; Office for Intergovernmental Affairs; Press Secretary’s office; Speechwriting office; Communications office among others. Each department maintains their own set of responsibilities which can range from developing strategies for domestic issues like health care reform to engaging foreign governments on issues like climate change or trade negotiations. In addition to these departments there are also numerous other groups working within the Executive branch such as: OMB-led statistical agencies like Bureau Statistics (BLS); various councils like U.S.-China Strategic & Economic Dialogue (USCSED); independent commissions such as Federal Election Commission (FEC) which enforces campaign finance laws at federal level elections; advisory committees like President’s Advisory Committee on Trade Negotiations (PACTRAN); plus special teams established by Congress such as 9/11 Commission which investigated terrorist attacks against US soil in 2001 among others. Finally there are also support services available for members who work within this complex organization including Human Resources Department responsible for hiring new personnel into federal positions , General Services Administration responsible for managing facility operations at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue , Information Technology Department responsible for setting up telecommunication systems between different offices etcetera.
