What is North America?

North America is the third-largest continent in the world, located mainly in the Northern Hemisphere and mostly in the Western Hemisphere. It is bordered by both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, as well as by South America to the south. North America is home to over 500 million people from a variety of different nations, cultures, languages and religions.The United States of America makes up most of North America’s land mass. Mexico shares an extensive border with it along its southern edge, while Canada lies to its north. In between these two countries are several smaller countries such as Guatemala, Honduras and Belize which make up Central America. The Caribbean Islands also form part of North American geography but are generally considered separate from North American mainland due to their unique culture and history.In terms of climate, North America has a great diversity ranging from tropical climates like that found in parts of Florida or Hawaii to arctic climates like those seen in Alaska or Nunavut. It boasts some truly stunning landscapes ranging from mountains such as Mount McKinley (the highest peak on the continent) to vast plains like those found throughout much of Canada and Mexico. There are countless national parks where one can explore nature at its finest including Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming or Banff National Park in Alberta; just two examples among many others. North Americans have created some incredible achievements over time with proud traditions rooted deeply within various cultures across this vast region from professional sports teams competing for championships all year round (Go Leafs Go.) down to local festivals celebrating music, food and heritage for generations every summer season (think Caribana). All this goes together gives rise to a thriving economy where diverse populations come together daily to drive commerce forward through innovation and hard work keeping ideas fresh & businesses running smoothly. Overall North America is an amazing region full of opportunity offering something special for everyone whether they’re looking for adventure outdoors or perhaps seeking out new experiences indoors there’s sure enough here no matter what you seek.
