What is Modern World History?

After WWII ended with Allied victory came a period known as the Cold War (1945 91) between communist countries led by the Soviet Union against democratic countries led by the United States. This decades long standoff included proxy wars fought all over the globe without direct confrontation between these two superpowers; yet their influence could be felt everywhere from military technology advancements to ideological clashes like those seen during McCarthyism in America. The eventual collapse of communism with fall of Berlin wall symbolized end of cold war era ushering us into an age where global economic integration enabled unprecedented flow goods & services across borders giving rise to globalization phenomenon. In addition to political changes resulting from wars or ideological standoffs, science & technology has played significant role throughout modern world history influencing human lives more than ever before often making life easier but also raising ethical questions about its application at times . Development nuclear weapons opened Pandora box unleashing destructive power never seen before ; while medical breakthroughs extended life expectancies , ubiquitous internet connected people no matter where they are located . Moreover discoveries within fields such artificial intelligence & robotics are rapidly transforming everyday lives causing fundamental shifts labor markets worldwide . Advances biotechnology enabling genetic modification created much debate among public about morality behind manipulating nature .
