What is Benefits And Drawbacks?
Group work has become a popular form of instruction in classrooms around the world. It allows students to collaborate, build relationships, develop problem-solving skills, and practice communication. However there are both benefits and drawbacks that come with group work. The main benefit of group work is that it encourages collaboration between students. Each student brings their own unique knowledge and perspective to the group, making for a more enriched learning experience. Working together also allows students to develop social skills such as communication, negotiation, and compromise – which are essential for success in the workplace. Group assignments can also be less intimidating than individual assignments because they are typically less complex and require less pressure on each individual student. However, there are some drawbacks to group work that should be taken into consideration. One such drawback is that often times some students may not contribute equally or at all; this creates an imbalance within the group where one person is doing most of the work while others reap the same reward without putting in any effort. Furthermore, if one student fails to perform their part of an assignment due to disinterest or lack of knowledge then it can have negative effects on other members’ grades as well as their overall understanding of material taught in class.
