What is Anatomically Modern Humans?
Anatomically modern humans (also known as Homo sapiens) are the only extant members of the Homo genus, and represent a species that has evolved significantly over the course of thousands of years. Anatomically modern humans first appeared in Africa roughly 200,000 years ago, and spread out across the world shortly thereafter.Physiologically speaking, anatomically modern humans are incredibly varied; they can range from tall to short, thin to heavy-set, and have eye colors ranging from blue to brown. Furthermore their skin color varies drastically depending on geographical location. Anatomically modern humans also have a large number of unique physical traits such as bipedalism the ability to walk upright on two feet opposable thumbs for precise manipulation of objects, an increased cranial capacity allowing for more complex thoughts processes compared to other primates and animals, speech capabilities due to specialized vocal cords and tongue structure/functionality etc.. Culturally speaking human societies vary greatly with regards to language spoken, customs practiced and technologies used; this is due largely in part due to our adaptive nature which allows us not just survive but thrive in nearly any environment we inhabit or encounter. As far as religion goes many religions both ancient and contemporary exist among homo sapiens representing vastly different ways that people interpret their environment around them spiritually or philosophically speaking. In conclusion it would be safe say that anatomically modern humans have come quite a long way since our ancestors first started walking on two feet hundreds of thousands of years ago. Our physical attributes combined with our impressive cultural/social adaptations have allowed us become one most successful species ever grace planet earth.
