What is 18th Century?
The 18th century was a time of great change and advancement in many areas. From the world of science and technology to politics, art, and culture, the 18th century saw a period of unprecedented growth and development. The Age of Enlightenment saw advances in education, philosophy, science, literature, and culture that allowed for greater access to knowledge and understanding. This period also saw the birth of the Industrial Revolution which brought about massive changes in the way goods were produced and consumed.Scientific advances made during this time included discoveries in fields such as astronomy, chemistry, physics, mathematics and biology. New inventions such as steam engines revolutionized transportation systems while new technologies greatly improved communication between individuals around the world. Political movements such as liberalism challenged traditional governing structures by promoting greater individual freedom while providing an outlet for political dissenters to express their thoughts on government policies. In addition to these developments in science and politics, art flourished during this time with artists creating works inspired by classical antiquity or depicting scenes from everyday life that captured the spirit of their times. The 18th century was also a period when religious thought underwent significant changes throughout Europe due to increased contact with other cultures through exploration or colonization efforts. Protestantism began to spread across Europe while Enlightenment thinkers like Voltaire sought out religious toleration which allowed people more freedom to practice different faiths without fear of persecution or retribution from authorities. This new spirit towards religion helped pave the way for a more inclusive society that valued individual differences regardless of faith or belief system. Overall it can be said that the 18th Century was a period filled with great strides forward for humanity both intellectually and socially speaking as well as an era where humankind’s understanding of itself expanded dramatically due to increased access to knowledge through scientific discovery coupled with wider acceptance for differences among individuals regardless of faith or political beliefs .
