The subject that´s receiving the action is stated by the preposition “conmigo”. You could, however, substitute it with “me” Let´s see:

Without “me”: Sí, Martín habló conmigo por teléfono anoche./ Yes, Martin spoke to me on the phone last night.

With “me”: Sí, Martín me habló por teléfono anoche./ Yes, Martín spoke to me on the phone last night.
