In the movie, the organization known as INITECH was a multicultural environment with employees from various backgrounds, including different nationalities and religions, such as Arab Muslim Samir. Throughout the story, there were various contracts observed between employees and the organization, including psychological contracts like Peter's which changed after he underwent hypnotism. Additionally, an implicit contract existed between Lumbergh, the boss, and the concerned department in INITECH. However, due to inadequate management in areas such as staffing, communication, coherence performance, positive organizational beliefs/values, and motivation processes, this led to an inefficient and depressive organization plagued by destructive conflicts. Employees were preoccupied with forms rather than contents, resulting in overall dissatisfaction and constant anxiety.

implement the perception of consulting services as they made decisions themselves instead of supporting the decision-making process. Using Hofstede's cultural dimensions approach, this organization can be analyzed and classified as having a large power distance index (PDI) as employees accept and expect unequal distribution of power. Milton and other employees have accepted complete control and unconditional orders dictated by upper levels without problem, indicating power distribution is not inadequate.

is exemplified by their aversion and anxiety towards consultants, as seen in the tense atmosphere of the office when INITECH informs the employees of a consultant being brought in to improve efficiency. The employees are nervous about interviewing for their own jobs. Additionally, Johari's Window can be used to explain the relationship between self-disclosure and feedback. The movie's key characters can be classified according to this model, with Lumbergh falling under the Arena cell which consists of what he knows about himself and what others know about him. This includes observable behavior, attitudes, values, and information he has revealed to others.

Peter is categorized as Unknown because neither he nor the organization understands his motivations. Milton is classified as Facade because he behaves as if he enjoys his work at INITECH, even though he actually dislikes it. Similarly, Samir is also in the Facade cell because he keeps his concerns about job security to himself despite worrying about it.

Michel is also in the Facade cell, and he doesn't express any negative feelings about the company. As consultants of INITECH, we are responsible for identifying symptoms and related problems within the organization. These symptoms and problems include varying perceptions of languages, such as:

Time: One of the symptoms experienced by Peter and the others is a difference in perspective regarding weekend holidays compared to Lumbergh's perception of working hours.

Space: There were several symptoms experienced in relation to working space. Peter was unhappy with the lack of space in his cubicle, which contributed to a lack of privacy and numerous distractions caused by loud noise from Milton's radio and constant phone calls from the operators. As

a sign of conflict and dissatisfaction, Peter destroyed the front wall of his cubic space. Milton also suffered from having to change his working space frequently, as Lumbergh limited his workspace and even moved him to lower floors.

The text discusses various issues faced by Milton, an employee at the company INITECH. One of Milton's symptoms was his extreme sensitivity towards his red Swing line stapler, which he feared would be noticed by others. However, this stationary tool was considered normal by everyone else, including Lumbergh who eventually took it away from him. Another symptom experienced by Milton was a difference in perception of his working agreement with the company. While he viewed himself as an employee receiving monthly paychecks, the company had actually laid him off five years ago due to a glitch in accounting but failed to correct the error. This discrepancy could potentially result in conflicts with destructive consequences if not properly managed. Eventually, Milton set fire to the INITECH building after facing continuous maltreatment from the company.

- Peter, Michael, and Samir conspired to insert a virus into Initech's computer system that would divert money into their personal account. This plan was hatched due to the lack of motivation and satisfaction felt by the employees. The management failed to acknowledge and cultivate both intrinsic and extrinsic factors required for motivating and satisfying employees. The symptoms of this issue are visible in Peter's statements to a consultant where he claims that he lacks motivation rather than being lazy, as well as in his conversation with his girlfriend where he expresses disinterest in doing anything.

Insufficient handling of the E-P-G process was observed, in

which the concentration was solely on forms without paying attention to the content. Management solely focused on artifacts and neglected the establishment of values and beliefs of their employees. Furthermore, the management was unable to outline any employee accomplishments, resulting in minimal effort from employees making it difficult to measure performance and attain goals. Symptoms of this issue were evident when Peter claimed to work only efficiently for 15 minutes out of an 8-hour working day. Additionally, Lumbergh and seven other supervisors repeatedly reminded Peter of his failure to provide a cover sheet for his T.

According to the P.S. report, not only INITECH, but also Joanna's workplace, the Chotchkie restaurant, has an equivalent of Lumbergh as a boss. This boss is displeased with the "flair" (decorative buttons) on Joanna's work uniform and repeatedly lectures her about expressing herself through them. Despite having the opportunity to wear up to 15 pieces of "flair," Joanna seems content with wearing the minimum. In the end, she reluctantly promises to put in more effort to express herself, not out of motivation but to alleviate the pressure from her boss's rigid expectations.
