“I have a dream” was one of the defining speeches delivered by Martin Luther King Jr .In this speech, Martin adopts a composition structure that brings out numerous messages in a significantly less time stamp as per his intentions. He also uses metaphors such as “To cash a check” which is used to refer to the black peoples’ act of coming forth to collect their freedom which would mark the end of slavery and tribulations . Another one is “beacon light of hope” of which light is a sign of relief that there is hope for the black people to be no longer shown prejudice .

Therefore, the speech is still effective when read or heard for another time since it condemns bigotry and discrimination on racial grounds, an issue that is still evidently prevalent today for instance in seeking employment and in workplaces . The speech was and still is commendably powerful due to the fact that it encompassed the main issues that affect the manner with which black peoples’ rights are undermined and how they are always depicted as lesser humans that others merely due to their black complexion.
