A book club and give a homeless a home two amazing approaches to help the homeless. In the article “A book Club, whose best stories aren’t written down” by Lisa Tobin and the article “Oasis Coalition” written by the book club. Talk about how a lot of the time homeless people often don’t get noticed and are often just walked passed as if they don’t matter. In the article Resnik said “Talking to the two guys he discovered a mutual interest”. For starters, by even starting a conversation with a homeless person shows you at least care. Which I noticed In the second article “ Home free” by James Surowiecki and the article “Daily show schools us on why homeless aren’t actually moochers who cost taxpayers” by Huffpost.

...mes people that try to help homeless people feel as though providing shelters and halfway houses for the homeless is enough. Which in reality isn’t In the article Home free by James he mentioned giving a homeless person a home first is more beneficial and cheaper in the long run. In both these articles the main way I noticed they related is because people caring. In order for a book organization to start or even helping homeless get shelter established people have to care.
The second way I noticed these articles were related was because in the article “A book club” by Lisa Tobin one of the members in the book club said. 'You know, I look at it as she has a need,' one of the club members says. 'And it becomes so intense that she has to have it, constantly and the
she says I mean, I don't want to get too far into it because of my own needs.
In the article “Home free” by James Surowiecki he mentions “It’s more effective, period. The old model assumed that before you could put people into permanent homes you had to deal with their underlying issues—get them to stop drinking, take their medication, and so on”. In both these articles they both help homeless people connect to their personal life and makes them rethink as well reminisce about how they can improve their lifestyle.
Besides the article being able to compare there are a lot of things that didn’t. For example, one of the article talks about helping find shelter and the other talks about reading books and educating the homeless. Which are two types of ways to help but also different theories. Another example I noticed is the locations In one article It shows the book club takes place in Boston, Ma and the homes for homeless people takes place in Salt Lake City, Utah. Which shows that both places are in completely different places and across the country.
All and all there are many resources that help homeless people all over. As well as many people who genuinely care about them as well. Which we seen is happening all over the country. I feel the most valuable lesson that we need to take into consideration is that no matter what someone is struggling with or going through, we are all human and we all have feelings. Also, no help is never to small and there is always someone who can benefit from it. As we have seen in the
article Rob went from just him and two homeless men to now having a whole group of members.
