Significant changes in budget affect policy and alter political agenda. Therefore, parties feel persuaded to keep watch of the budget related matters with the intention of securing political futures. The parts of budget reflect political ideals and parties. Therefore, the Congress prefers to protect specific ideals. I feel that the act of cutting the funding of aid should be reviewed. In my opinion, America is the land of opportunity and should equally reflect a touch of philanthropy.

Challenges of Budget Discussions

Working on the project as a group would have resulted in numerous challenges. Different people believe in different ideals and prioritize matters in different mannerisms. As such, deliberations would mean serious debates and possible voting sessions before substantial progress is made. Such instances would appear more often when dealing with contentious issues. Increasing alcoholic beverage and capital gains tax, introduction of financial crisis responsibility fee, enacting carbon tax or cap-and-trade, and raising cap to cover 90% of earnings are some of the contentious issues. These issues are particularly delicate because they concern demanding more funds from the public, and some group members would feel that cheaper options to national development are more sustainable. Additionally, tax related matters are delicate and tend to attract much attention with varying opinions because they have significant implications on the corporate world. Any compromise would mean that some budgetary needs be ignored while others receive more funds because of the reality that resources are ever scarce.
In conclusion, Federal budgets are delicate and addressed by Congress as it exercises

crucial powers. It is equally true that the question of prioritization and evaluation of policies results in a review of the budget on a yearly basis. Public support is an important factor; therefore, doing the assignment in a group would have resulted in lengthy debates and ultimate compromise because resources are always scarce.
