There are many different types of fiction. Many people confuse these different types of fiction and classify fiction books into incorrect groups. To help better understand fiction they would have to know what types of fiction there are and what they’re like. These types of fiction include realistic fiction, science fiction, and historical fiction. Realistic fiction refers to stories that might really happen, stories set in a particular time and that happen to a particular people.

The plot of a realistic story focuses on everyday problems, pleasures and personal relationships and the setting seems as real as the world we know. Science fiction is a genre of fiction in which the stories often tell about science and technology of the future. In some historical fiction, famous events appear from points of view of these characters. However, in order for a book to be considered historical fiction it must have an accurate timeline, authentic setting, and it must be realistic.
