It is demonstrated in the way characters in the movie are capable of transforming their shapes. Dark City can be a thriller or science fiction movie in the way characters and events interrelate (Roger Ebert, Pg 1).
The large city of the film seems to exist in a timeline that is alternate with a combination of elements of the present and the past. It represents a city of shadows in the night with a futuristic vision (Roger Ebert, Pg 1).
Dark City represents the world that strangers invade and controls a city through changing the norms and ordinary activities of the city. It is symbolic and reflects on the real humanity events such as powerful countries in the
...globe invading developing nations for their personal gains (Roger Ebert, Pg 1).
The message that the film offers about the death is that it is inevitable and befalls everyone in the society irrespective of status or role (Roger Ebert, Pg 1).
The technology is represented by the way the invaders operate through secret dens and their ability to perform experiments that inject people of the town through their forehead hence disorienting their memory. The invaders are also capable of moving buildings and objects when the victims are asleep hence reconfiguring the whole phase of the city (Roger Ebert, Pg 1).
The film tries to insinuate that technology and humanity are inseparable in the sense that through technology, the way human being thinks changes (Roger Ebert, Pg 1). It is demonstrated after experiments have bee
performed and injection executed. However, as much as there is technology, people have values and instincts that make them human (Roger Ebert, Pg 1). Technology can manipulate humanity by changing the way they think and diverting their thoughts from standard values and virtues. The movie covers technology to show the influence that it has on the daily life of human beings and how the right use can lead to considerable achievements (Roger Ebert, Pg 1).
The themes created by the binary denote that urban places possess natural activities like love, death among other things. It matters to the message of the movie in a sense that other significant events such as technology must coexist with natural events to maintain a balance in the society (Roger Ebert, Pg 1).
