The Coca-Cola Company is the manufacturer, distributor and marketer of soft drinks. The company has operations in more than 200 countries under the reputed brand names viz. , Diet Coke, Fanta and Sprite.

Apart from this, the company owns licenses for more than 450 brands for manufacturing of non-alcoholic beverages which are concentrates and artificially flavored syrups. There is extremely good demand for these soft drinks for the taste and flavor it offers to the consumers.It goes almost with every snack, meal or thirst quench. In fact, McDonald, Burger King, Pizza Corner have introduced a free Coke of 100ml with every purchase of a pizza or a burger by a customer in order to boost the sales, for such is the taste and quality of Coke which is liked by almost every consumer in the world, wherever there is access to Coke.

Coca-Cola company is the reward for its past and present quality supply of soft drinks and the supportive research that was performed in order to bring out the best quality of soft drinks to meet the demand of customers.

The Coca-Cola Quality System

(TCCQS) which was established in 1995 which ensures every processing of quality i. e. quality planning, management review and safety are all under the purview of TCCQS and there are also stages of evolution in TCCQS in development of further quality systems such as incorporation of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) and defining problem solving methodologies and management tools in the quality system which enable preventive actions and better produce service. The pyramid model of TCCQS is also defined as policy, assurance and control.

Further TCCQS has also been awarded with ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 for saving audit costs, operational disturbances and to take advantage of benefits of certification. From the view point of business goals and objectives, company practices quality statement, management statement, business planning, the responsibilities of management, quality manual, infrastructure in product design and development, commercialization, calibration, Incident Management and Crisis Resolution (IMCR) and training.

Control charts are a useful tool to check the monitoring of a process. It represents graphically the average value producing upper and lower control limits giving the highest and lowest values of a process. Control charts also check the variation in a process and this variation there are common causes and special causes.

Variations enable to identify the mistakes in the processes which are caused by errors in the system.For measuring the monitoring process of Coca-Cola Company, it is required to define the standards

of a process and in the next stage, collect data required in order to create a control chart.

Select a chart viz. , Percent Nonconforming Chart, P Chart or Average and Range Control Chart X-R Chart and for measuring through these control charts, samples have to be collected, frequency of sampling to analyze and evaluate the quality in months, days and years and finally samples have to be collected at random i. e. rom different locations and different days of the week.

After collection of sample data, the data has to be recorded on the appropriate control graph and the third step is to calculate the statistics and observe the limits i. e. Upper Control Limit (UCL), Standard which is average and Lower Control Limit (LCL). The interpretation of graph indicates the improvements to be made in the quality, flaws in the system and wherever the hindrances or “out of control” stages, such as these are indicated by control charts.

There are already adequate measures implemented by Coca-Cola company to improve the quality of product. So far the performance of Coca-Cola company in organizational structure as well in supply of quality soft drinks has been praiseworthy in the international consumer market and the future is also predicted to be quite prospective whereas the company has to maintain a constant feedback from the market as well from the customers about the quality of soft drinks.Especially, the bottling of Coke especially 2. 00 ltrs after the consumption of soft drink, many consumers are not aware how these bottles must be disposed and very few customers use these coke bottles for the purpose of storing drinking water in refrigerators and in

many public places coke bottles would be spread for the purpose of junk collection.Problems such as these must be handled by the company by indicating a label on the bottle as to how these bottles should be discarded or disposed which would be followed by customers.
