Childhood Innocence I have checked all over the internet for a direct definition of childhood innocence, however even the Merriam-Webster dictionary does not have a definition of childhood Innocence. I guess you could look up the two words separately and link the definition together. Childhood is defined in the Merriam-Webster dictionary as "the state or period of being a child".
Innocence is defined as "the state of being not guilty of a crime or other wrong act". So childhood Innocence could mean the state of being a child without being guilty of a crime or wrong act.
When thinking of and defining childhood innocence, one may believe it's a state of being carefree, pure of heart, and most Importantly Its very fragile. Childhood Innocence Is Inspirational and should be prot
...ected from evils that surround it because it easily taken away. In early childhood, children live In a constant state of being carefree. Children dive head first into anything they want to do without any worries of the consequences.
For example a child being on vacation may climb that big tree their campsite is next to. The child climbs the tree and thinks nothing of the "what If" scenarios.
What If the tree limb breaks and the child plummet's to ground? What if after the fall the child breaks a leg? What if, even worse, the child falls on their neck and will never again be able to walk? These are scary possibilities that the carefree child doesn't even think twice about. This is Just one example, but the carefree nature of not worrying of what may happen is truly living. It's taking advantage of
precious moment that crosses an Individual's life. We all have regrets of not doing something simply because we fear he worst possible outcome.
Maybe there is the boy or girl that one wanted to ask out but was scared of the rejection. The carefree childhood innocence let the child climb tree because of the thrill It gave him/her to so. In addition to being carefree, the innocence of a child is being pure of heart. Before the Innocence of child start to diminish, they do things with best of Intentions In mind. There is no reward expected.
For example, a parent may be decorating the house and scrubbing the kitchen floors getting ready for a family get together.
The hill says to the parent with wide opened bright eyes "look daddy I'm helping decorate too! " Then the parent turns around to notice their child coloring on the walls. How could one get mad? The child was only trying help. There are many examples of the pureness of an innocent child. But the main point Is that there Is never an alternative motive to do something that is genuine and good.
The deed is done purely because it makes them feel good for helping. It's true to say that later Into adulthood we forget that feeling that arises in us from doing something Just cause it's the right thing to do.
Lastly, childhood Innocence Is very fragile thing due to the cruel nature of the world we are surrounded by. Every harsh action or cruel intentions a child is surrounded, a small piece of their innocence is stolen from them. Whether it may be a
death in the child sees someone getting bullied. The child could go outside one day and realize their bike is stolen.
The child doesn't understand why things like this happen. Moreover, maybe the child sees a stray cat and wants to pet it or give it shelter then the cat scratches the child in the face.
Thus leaving the young child never liking cats simply by the negative interaction it encountered. These are Just a few examples but for every tragic incident that witnessed by a child for the first time, their innocence is slowly chipped away.
In summation, childhood innocence is a very fragile and beautiful thing. It can inspire anyone who witnesses it. It can make grown adults want to change for the better. On the other hand, it can also be quickly taken away due to the cruel world we live in.
As adults who should realize this fact, we have a duty to help prolong the innocence of hill as long as we can.
Also we should interpret the positive parts of childhood innocence into our own lives. "Climb that tree" and start that non-profit business you have been putting off due the fear of failure. Open the door for a stranger at a local gas station. Help an elderly take groceries from their cart and into their trunk. Do these things Just to do them with no hidden agenda.
That innocence that a child has would do these things. Us as adults should be doing these kinds of things too. (Merriam-Webster(allowance)) (Merriam-Webster(Childhood))
