Businesses need to keep their computer systems up-to-date in order to stay competitive and take advantage of the benefits offered by technology. The multifunctionality and automation capabilities are crucial, providing accuracy, dependability, and adaptability when dealing with different types of information.
Computerized systems aim to create a centralized and organized system for organizations. They simplify maintenance and operation for technical and non-technical individuals, streamlining information handling, storage, and retrieval. This can potentially reduce costs by eliminating the need for extra staff while also reducing the time and effort required to complete tasks.
The Rosario Branch of Citylane Grocery Store has been in operation since the early 90's and is well-known for offering excellent products and services at reasonable prices. Nevertheless, the branch currently employs a manual payroll system, where employees use a Bundy cl
...ock and time cards to record their hours worked. The accounting team then manually inputs this data into a Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet.
The current process for managing employee information and payroll computation at Citylane Grocery Store's Rosario branch involves manual actions on MS Excel. This includes viewing, adding, and editing employee details, as well as payroll calculations through manually-set formulas by hired personnel. The extensive human involvement in the payroll system has resulted in problems with accuracy, security, reliability, and effectiveness. However, a proposed automated payroll system has been suggested to address these issues and more. The proposed system will require two interconnected computers.
One computer will act as a server while the other will be a client. The client computer, which will be situated at the employee entrance, will run the time in/out software and be utilized by employees for clocking in and
out. Alternatively, the server computer, located in the accounting office, will run the administrator interface, allowing the administrator to generate reports, and access, create, and modify employee information.
Automatically performing payroll calculations and storing employee time in/out data on the server computer, the system utilizes this information along with other necessary details already in the database to compute the company's payroll whenever required. By minimizing human intervention in the process, the system effectively reduces the chance of errors, resulting in a more precise and dependable system compared to manual methods.
Limiting access to the system not only enhances security but also improves efficiency by eliminating the need for extra staff to handle payroll calculations.
