STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:
After obtaining my undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering, I am certain about my choice to pursue a career in engineering. The field of civil engineering provides practical solutions to human issues, which aligns perfectly with my passion and enthusiasm. The wide range of growth opportunities and possibilities within civil engineering have motivated me to continue my education and make meaningful contributions through research. I firmly believe that earning a degree from West Virginia University will be a major step towards accomplishing these objectives.
I chose to pursue a degree in Civil Engineering because I want to have a positive impact on society. I believe that Civil Engineering is crucial for developing a country's infrastructure and plays an important role in everyone's life.
This ambition comes from my admiration for the father of my childhood friends, who was a civil
...engineer. Whenever I visited him, I felt excited and curious about his profession. Personally, I am optimistic, hardworking, and value ethical integrity in all aspects of my life.
I come from an academic-focused family that emphasizes motivation and competitiveness. Growing up in this environment has instilled in me a strong determination for achievement, competition, as well as a thirst for scientific exploration.
My academic performance was exceptional throughout my schooling, leading to admission into India's prestigious National Institute of Technology (NIT - Warangal) after achieving a top 1% score on the Joint Entrance Examination. It was during the "Mechanics of Materials" course at NIT that I discovered my interest in structural engineering, as it taught me fundamental principles and ignited my passion for this field.
