the America society occurs today. For many decades women have been seeking for equality rights, if the famines movement didn’t began god knows what kind of role women would play in the world. Until 1960’s, women were treated as a secondary citizen, and there were objectified, slave of their husband, and male gender in general.

Even though women are working in high powers and have made their ways in politics however America is the only democratic country that has not elected women as of president. Judy Bready is one of the actives of famines movement in 60’s, in her literary of “I want a wife” which it was published at M Magazine in 1971. It is clear that she is trying to awaken women about how they are presenting themselves in the society. As they are raising their children and contributing

to their families well being, men are gaining lots of economic power over them and legal right to protect themselves from legal aspects of marriage.

Due to simplicity of her writhing method Looks like her target is mostly housewives with poor education background. it is uses very simple and basic language, it is clear that uneducated women are her first targets. She gives clear example on how women feel about themselves and they give men are unappreciative of all of their hard works at the end of the day if they want to replace their wife then all the laws are in their favors. Unfortunately today many women can relate to her story, as men mentality hasn’t change about their wife.

Now a day’s women are working as hard as their husband but at the end of the day they still have never ending wife and mother duties. Men are not willing nor accepting women as equal as them. This matter shows even in work force, unfortunately women that have same job skills and experience get paid less than a men. Not to long a go president Obama passing the bill that men and women need to get paid equally. In 1960’s women were consider as a secondary citizens of society.

By the end of 1980’s there were some right that was given to women such as equality of gender, equal opportunities at work, and some legal rights such as abortion rights, which it led women to have big impact on society. However, women still had to play their role at home as a wife and mother. As Judy describes in her

literature, there is a big conflict between family’s cultures and sociality. As women started working and contributing to their family’s finance, and earning more economical independency, they were still treated as slaves at home.

As Judy describes in her article men were unappreciative of their wives and how women were victims of society and their circumstances. She uses special language to cross her point such as “I belong to that classification of people known as wives”. Which refers to female gender as some kind of animal. This conflict still remains today; as women are achieving higher level on corporate world at end of the day they still a wife and mother. Judy tries to give a clear picture of what was expected from women at home and how men looked upon done on them.

She writes the article in female voice through the male’s point of view. For example” I want a wife who will work and send me to school”, Judy says that she wants a wife who will work and support her husband so he can focuses on building his currier and economical independents and later on she refers to "When I am through with school and have a job, I want my wife to quit working and remain at home so that my wife can more fully and completely take care of a wife's duties. " Clearly she tries to show that women currier did not matter she was only a temporary tool to support her husband on an achieving his goals.

Now a days this issue is more personal preference and matter of fanatical, which women chooses to

stay at home and contribute to raising her children as the husband become solely provider of the household. This refers to women not being paid equally and not treated as same as the other gender issue still until 2009 when president Obama passes the bill which men and women should get paid equally "If by some chance, I find another person more suitable as a wife... I want the liberty to replace my current wife...

I will expect a fresh, new life; my wife will take the children and be solely responsible for them so that I am left free. " When a man gets tired or bored of his wife and the life he has created with her, she must continue to do as she does, while he can move on without a single glance back. She's taking care of the kids and doing everything anyway though, so it should not be much of a change for her if she is tossed away like the garbage. These reefers to No Fault State law, which it was, pass in 1969.

No fault state means that by state law no punishment should take place for breaking their commitment to each other, nor is it required to prove that one’s spouse has done something wrong. Throughout the history women have been trying to come along by achieving more right for them selves they have been successful on some aspects such as political rights, social, and economical rights. As Judy Brady uses the “I Want a Wife” to proof how women were treated as a secondary citizens and man were the solely and primarily beneficiary of

marriage in 70’s.

In order to proof her point she tries to speak from male standing points and the demands that is there for satisfaction is the only thing that it dose matter. Even though now a day’s women are achieving and earning many important position and they play big role in the society which all of this was just a dream a few decades ago, however the question still remain, if women are getting acknowledged for their hard work and get treated as equal as men.
