However, the rigorous training that they receive from their instructors gradually transforms them from unskilled to skilled individuals that could impact the society in a positive manner. The knowledge obtained from high school tutors enable the student to advance to institutes of higher learning and eventually into lucrative jobs. Back then, the internet was not there; hence, students had to make more use of the library to conduct their research studies. A majority of current high school students possess smartphones and laptop computers. Through the internet which is available in most high schools in the United States, students can use these electronics to conduct online research studies. This has been made possible by the fact that some schools have online libraries were students using the internet could access resource materials. Additionally, high school teachers in the current generation are more constrained compared to the instructors of the 1980s who were authority figures that did not tolerate disrespectful students.

Currently, high school teachers are less constrained due to the numerous laws that protect students and children. Despite these differences, several similarities still exist between the current students and those of the 1980s. For example, besides class periods and extracurricular activities, standardized tests

and homework were present in the 1980s just as they are today. Best and Worst about being a 17 Year Old Boy The best thing about being a 17-year-old boy is the eagerness and expectations that come with joining college. This is because it has always been a belief that college life is more fun compared to high school. Unlike in high school, college students can make their own schedule, live independently and have long holiday breaks. Besides the freedom that is associated with college, these teenagers are also fascinated by the fact that they will soon be pursuing careers of their choice, which will eventually lead to lucrative job opportunities in the future.

A majority of boys in this age group are yet to join college; hence, they have many career options at their disposal. Although having a variety of career options is an exciting experience for a 17-year-old, it can also be confusing as these teenagers can be spoilt for choices. Unlike the students that already joined college, 17-year-old boys still have time to consult professional experts on the ideal career to pursue in college. Peer pressure is usually the worst thing about being a 17-year-old boy. It is during this period that boys are exposed to the world of alcohol consumption, premarital sexual activities as well as tobacco and marijuana smoking. Excessive exposure to these acts eventually transforms them from the initial humble 17-year-olds into aggressive and abusive teenagers not only to their peers but also to adults. If necessary measures are not taken, boys in this age group are most likely to join criminal groups and start causing havoc in the neighborhood.
