Ecosystem, forests, grasslands, plains, deserts and countries provide habitats for wildlife. Therefore, the purpose of this essay will entail looking at the wildlife of Saudi Arabia. The wildlife in Saudi Arabia has varied, and substantial aspects blended. Saudi Arabia is a vast country located in the Arabian Peninsula. There are different geographic regions that offer habitat for the diversity of animals and plants. Moreover, there are deserts and high mountains, coastlines and coastal plains on the Red Sea and Gulf of Aqaba. Saudi Arabia has Sarawat, Asir and Sawda Mountains. Most importantly, the birds are always large in number. The birds that pass the migratory route include; Flamingos, pigeons, pelicans, and buzzards. The birds have been examined. Many researchers have done a lot of study about patterns of life of the birds that are native to Saudi Arabia. Thus, the birds found to be aboriginal to Saudi Arabia include eagles, quails, buzzards, and sand grouse. Conversely, the wildlife of Saudi Arabia is made up of migratory birds. Saudi Arabia’s Wildlife provides the habitat for many mammals that can only withstand the harsh climate conditions in the deserts in the country. Most mammals in Saudi Arabia have their habitats off-coast. The camel can be easily noted when one tours the country of Saudi Arabia. Oppositely, there are small mammals such as goat, ibex, hyena, and rodents which do exist in the country. There are no permanent rivers in Saudi Arabia, due to the limited supply of water; there is limited life in the country. Some animals are gradually facing extinction. Camel, which is also referred to as desert ship, can preserve more than seventy pounds of fat. The fat may be digested for energy and nutrients.

The energy can sustain Camel for more than one hundred miles. Camels also have been domesticated for many years to date because it is a sign of wealth. However, the big cat in the Saudi Arabia’s Wildlife is Arabian Leopard. Conversely, they are the smallest compared to other species of cat family. The Reptilian Fauna in Saudi Arabia is found in varied locations and regions in the country. Providing habitats for more than fifty species of lizards and at least thirty-two species of snakes, Saudi Arabia has different types of Reptiles. Brahminy is the endangered snake species in the country. Also, cobra snake which is considered as the most poisonous snake in the Saudi Arabia is, as well, facing gradual extinction. However, the government is trying to carry out the reintroduction species to protect the endangered

species of the reptile animals. The National Commission for Wildlife Conservation (NCWCD) has laid strategies to converse the Wildlife of Saudi Arabia. The hunting activities in Saudi Arabia have been affecting the Wildlife.

Nevertheless, the initiative of NCWCD to set at least one hundred sites for protection is a good plan to save the situation. While Saudi Arabia is a desert country and tourism greatly depends on the religious pilgrims. The growth of leisure tourism calls for diversion of attention to wildlife. The country has great potential in providing leisure tourism and other forms. With the presence of many species of native birds and bird migration, bird watching can be creative tourism activity in Saudi Arabia. The various species of lizards and snakes can also be a good source of a platform for scientific research and tourism. The neglect of Wildlife sector has led to the extinction of some of the animals through hunting. Thanks to the government initiative that will enhance wildlife conversation in Saudi Arabia.
