From back 1930s up to the present, DC and Marvel Comics have been in a vicious cycle of friendly rivalry, originating from the book pages under them and now translating to their contents on the big screens. Both have various movies which have broken box office records. They include The Avengers (Marvel), The Dark Knight (DC), also Guardians of the Galaxy (Marvel) among others. In this paper, I am going to show why Marvel is better than DC in the following discussion.
To begin with, characters in DC are easily killed bearing in mind they have supernatural characters. It is true that both of them have poor records when it comes to the death of their characters but since DC have their superheroes who are aliens and invisible gods when they die off it doesn't sound well and defeats the point of the
...m being seen as superheroes.
Most of Marvel's superheroes characters are human hence are easier to relate to unlike supernatural beings of the DC's. Take for instance Wolverine, Iron Man, or even Spiderman; all are human. Some others like X-Men, who despite being mutant after facing accidents, they are still human. However, when we look at characters like the Flash, Superman, and Aquaman, they are not thought as ‘people,' they live their lives entirely from us, and it is their jobs to be superheroes.
Their storylines are also very distinct with Marvel's having a cohesive and continuous one both on the screen and on the page. DC, however, has been able to build a cohesive universe on screen even though Warner Bros has been in the early stages of wanting to do so.
In conclusion, Marvel is
better than DC from the above discussion. This is because of the various characters that make their storylines among other issues. As seen, most DC characters are supernatural and do not have the human touch hence not easy to relate to. Moreover, the way they are killed in an easy way does not depict their supernatural character. Lastly, the storylines are different with Marvel having a cohesive and continuous one both on the screen and on the page.
