North Carolina and Georgia are two of the most popular states in the Southeastern United States. They have a long history and are home to many diverse cultures, landscapes, and attractions.In terms of geography, North Carolina is located along the coast of the Atlantic Ocean and its climate is generally mild with hot summers. It is known for its beautiful mountain ranges, rivers, lakes, forests, beaches and coastal areas. The state has a variety of attractions such as historical sites like Fort Raleigh National Historic Site or Cape Hatteras Lighthouse as well as unique natural attractions such as Chimney Rock State Park or Linville Gorge Wilderness Area.Meanwhile, Georgia is located on the Eastern seaboard between North Carolina and Florida. It has a humid subtropical climate with hot summers and mild winters. There are also many diverse landscapes to explore ranging from mountains to barrier islands to swamps and marshes in the southeast corner of the state known as The Land Between The Rivers (Altamaha-Oconee). There are also plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy such as hiking trails at Stone Mountain Park near Atlanta or boating excursions around Lake Lanier outside Gainesville. Popular tourist destinations include Savannah’s historic district which showcases many antebellum mansions; Jekyll Island where you can find an abundance of wildlife; Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain where there are numerous gardens; and Augusta which is home to The Masters Golf Tournament each April at Augusta National Golf Club.
