What is Major League Baseball?
Baseball, America’s beloved pastime, has been a major part of the American culture for over 150 years. Major League Baseball (MLB) is the organization that governs professional baseball in North America and consists of 30 teams split between the two leagues: National League and American League. MLB was founded in 1903 and its headquarters are located in New York City. The purpose of MLB is to promote the sport of baseball by organizing competitions between different teams throughout North America. Besides having regular season games, there is also an All-Star Game which occurs every year in July where all-stars from both leagues compete against each other. At the end of every season, six teams from each league qualify for what is known as ‘the playoffs’ which determines who will be crowned World Series Champions at the very end. One thing that makes MLB so special compared to other sports organizations is how much history and tradition it holds with it. Players such as Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Sandy Koufax and many more have left their legacy behind them through their performances on the field or just simply being great human beings off it. Even today when you look at players like Mike Trout or Clayton Kershaw you can see why they are considered some of greatest players currently playing in this era while they chase after immortality set by legends before them Overall fear not only contributes to making MLB unique but it also helps give this sport a charm that no other professional sports league can match up to due its rich history and tradition full of memories shared over generations.
