Physical resources these are resources that are available to a business organisations in the form of buildings and other machineries needed for the day to day running of the organisation. Technological resources are such things as software, designs, music or text. These resources are owned like physical resources and are known as 'intellectual property'.
Intellectual property laws allow people to own ideas and have rights over them. Debenhams has many physical and technological resources to help the business to function efficiently. Tesco have things such as:Stock - Tesco’s stock are their products that they have within their store which the customer will then come and purchase. For example this will include food, clothing, home furniture and accessories. This would also be classes as their materials.
Machinery – Tesco machin
...ery would be their cherry picker that they use to pick up their stock. Their air conditioning would also be known as one of their machinery. Tesco also features elevators which are used for people with disabilities but also to make it easier for their customers to get to a different floor without any problems.There are also escalators that they offer more support for their customers.
IT equipment – Tesco equipment would be their self-service checkout which customer would use if they do not want to wait in line with the. This would makes things lot easier for their customer with only a small amount of goods to purchase. They also have computer where they would store all their data and information about their customers such as name, address, and email address and more, they would also use to store sales information to den to head office.Ai
conditioning would also be one of their it equipment as they need to keep their goods cool at all times for their customer and keep up to their usual standards.
They would also have photocopier that they use to produce information for employees as well as customers. Tesco also features escalators that customer sue to get different level of the store. This would make thing a lot easier for their customer s especially if they have excessive baggage. Tesco Lorries is also machinery as it carries their goods to different store within the UK and in other countries.
Building and facilities - Within Tesco they would have changing which their customer would use to try out their clothing. This will give the customer s a more satisfying feeling knowing that they are purchasing the right clothing at the right size. Tesco also have parking for their customers and employees, which make the customer enjoy their experience at Tesco as they might come to do a big shop, especially as they now have a cafe for their customer to have a more wonderful experience. Tesco also have the land that their business is built on.
Tesco land would be in a specific area that has a good community but somewhere that their company would benefit from. This would mean customers that are in need of their service. Stationary – Tesco stationary would be there paper that they use for receipts for customers purchases. This would also include pencil, stapler, pen, eraser and any every day accessorises that Tesco uses. Accumulated skills and & experience in software - accumulated skills and experience would be thing that Tesco employees has
gathered over the years of employment.Tesco would the best candidates working in their business, this means that they would they would uses skills audit to see if they are the right person to work in their business, they would need the right skills, training, experience and knowledge that the Tesco would need.
Using the skills audit Tesco would also be able to see if there are any transferable skills that they would use within the business. Tesco would put new employees on a training scheme if they don’t have everything that they need.They will learn how to use their software such as the intranet and self-service machine so that they are able to help customer if there are any problems. Intellectually property – intellectual property of Tesco would be their logo, slogan “every little helps”.
Using copyright and trademark would keep their own design, publicity material, website design safe from people who are willing to copy it and use for their own. If such thing were to happen they would likely be fined or get a sentence.If someone else is using Tesco stuff it is possible that they could create a bad reputation for Tesco. Software & technology – Tesco has special software that they their customers might uses such as a credit/debit card or even swipe card if they are not paying with cash. There’s also the intranet that their employee will use to store information such as their bakery recipe but also inform each other of things.
Tesco also uses payroll, where they would make data of paying their employees and other finical recordings. Tesco also uses sage to keep their accounts clear.
