This was a stated meeting that was scheduled for discussion of issues of importance. The meeting began with a roll call, which was followed by Invocation by Rabbi Haskel Lookstein. The next thing w the adoption of minutes of the Stated Meeting of March 22, 2016 with a call for its adoption as printed by Council Member Baron. With the adoption of minutes, messages and papers from the mayor was the next item, and here, the name of Manuel Miranda was submitted and consent and advice of the council was sought in appointing Miranda as a member of the New York City Commission. Next on the list was communication from city, County and Borough office, petition and communications, discussion of the general order, and report of standing committees. ...mittee on finance, committee on health, committee on housing and building, committee on land use, committee on public safety, and lastly, committee on rules, privileges, and elections. This was followed by General orders calendar on each of the committee, introduction and reading of bills, discussion of resolutions, and stating of resolutions. The meeting ended with a general discussion and extension remarks from council members, and every member was given a chance to participate.
In this meeting, there was a very strict regulation, that is, no one participated when he or she was not expected to. Every member of the council waited for his or her time to presents what he/she had, as well as to make his or her comments concerning an issue of interest.
