3 Idiots, a comedy film, was first shown in 2009.
The movie achieved success not just in Asia but also in the United States and other countries. It became a hit due to its ability to blend comedy with valuable life lessons. The story revolves around four college friends who face various challenges until their eventual graduation, while some of their classmates do not. Despite being a comedy, the film carries poignant messages that can be applied to real life.
The example of Ali Fazal's suicide after being prohibited from graduating due to his irrelevant project highlights the consequences of lacking passion (Hirani, 3 Idiots). Not all three friends in pursuit of engineering are enthusiastic about the course. Farhan Qureshi, for instance, was compelled by his father to attend Imperial College of Engineering but had a strong interest in wildlife pho
...tography (Hirani, 3 Idiots). Similarly, Raju Rastogi chose engineering to improve his family's socioeconomic status. However, both friends consistently ranked last due to their lack of passion.
However, Rancho Chanchad is an intelligent student who consistently achieved top marks in his class. When they finished college, Farhan pursued his passion and became a photographer, Raju secured a job in a corporate setting after a successful interview, and Chatur rose to the position of vice president in a company (Hirani, 3 Idiots). This scene emphasizes the significance of pursuing one's dreams and, in my perspective, motivates individuals to persevere and strive for success.
During their time in college, Rancho, Farhan, and Raju played a prank on Chatur by changing some words in his speech to vulgar terms. Despite this, Chatur memorized the entire speech with the
inappropriate words and ended up embarrassing himself in front of the education minister and their classmates when he delivered it. After this humiliating incident, Chatur approached the three friends and declared his determination to surpass them in success (Hirani, 3 Idiots). In my opinion, Chatur's declaration motivated Rancho, Farhan, and Raju to work harder, leading to their eventual success.
Throughout the film, Chatur, Farhan, and Raju embark on a quest to find their missing friend Rancho, who disappeared after graduating from Imperial College of Engineering. Their search leads them to discover that Rancho was not his real name. This realization occurs when they visit the true Rancho Chanchad, mistakenly thinking he is their lost friend (Hirani, 3 Idiots). The genuine Rancho reveals that their friend's name was actually Chhote. This particular scene highlights the issue of academic dishonesty, which I believe is the only setback portrayed in the movie. After a lengthy journey, the friends ultimately locate Chhote, who has also achieved success.
3 Idiots is an Indian comedy film that revolves around three friends who meet in college. They stick together until they graduate. Farhan follows his dreams and becomes a photographer, whereas Raju secures a corporate job. On the other hand, Chatur becomes the vice president of a company.
Rancho, the principal character, emerged as the most successful of all. In addition to his entrepreneurial pursuits, he also excelled as a scientist and gained numerous patents. The film not only brings laughter but also imparts valuable lessons on the significance of following one's passion and persistently working hard without surrendering.
