Many people have had a word about the problem of use of drugs in the society. One of these drugs is marijuana. This drug is illegal in many states across the world, but is it still used in those states? Definitely the answer is yes. Probably majority of the people have observed the effects of the use of the drug, taking for example, there is a social problem with people who use marijuana. However, many people feel that use of marijuana should be legalized. These people have acceptable reasons as to why they feel that legalization of marijuana would be advantageous.
People who use marijuana are not generally lawbreakers. There are thousands of law abiding people including law enforcers who have declared publicly that they have ever used marijuana. Notably, these people are even better at work than the
...ir counterparts who do not use or have never used marijuana. It is also a fact that through criminalizing use of marijuana, many states lose a good amount of resources that could be generated through acceptable growth and processing of the product (Chaffee & Susan 491). The government also spends a large amount of resources to fund the judicial system in order to deal with the sellers and users of marijuana. Last but never least, marijuana is used for some medical purposes.
It is good to understand that marijuana is a drug like any other. Therefore it is an addictive substance. If people are allowed to use it freely, it is probable that the drug will be misused and this will bring some other fatal effects. People who have used marijuana excessively develop other health complications that are damn
expensive to manage. In addition, hard users of marijuana are in many cases involved in crime and other anti-social behaviors.
Suppose marijuana lands in the hands of minors when it is legalized and it can be accessed freely from vendors? What kind of society will be brought up for the future? In order to have an upright society in the future, it would be better to suffer the effects of criminalizing marijuana as opposed to legalizing it.
