Social Justice is defined as justice among people of any gender, religion, race, ethnicity, etc. According to the law, every human being should be treated with equality and without partiality. Many individuals are facing discrimination because of inequality, religion, race, etc. especially at the workplace. Women more likely to experience gender wage difference than men in the workplace because of sex difference.
Women tend to receive lesser salary compared to men even though both works on the same platform. Men and women both can work full time, i.e., 35-40 hours/week or both can babysit their children and be home. As the people in our society believe that we live in a country that strives for equality in all aspects, the gender wage gap should also be diminished. Women are treated as being weak, physically and psychologically, while h
...aving more capability than men. It is entirely one-sided when women’s salary is being compared to men and how critical they are when it comes to strength, important female positions and being a disheartened to men.
Women are not being paid the same as their male counterpart even though they are more skilled in the workplace they share. “President Obama repeated the spurious gender wage-gap statistic in his State of the Union address. After repeating the familiar claim, he said, “That is wrong, and in 2014, it's an embarrassment”” (12). There are many laws concerning fair wages, but, the gender wage difference still comes in the way. Gender wage difference can be decreased, and an equal salary for both men and women can be achieved quickly with the enhancement and implementation of those laws. “Men in “good” female jobs o
average work over three hours more per week than women in similar jobs. The pattern is less clear in the less skilled jobs” (2005). Still, variation in working hours does not make any particular difference for the wage difference.
Nonetheless, the hourly pay varies a lot between males and females. Factors like occupation and marital or parental status affect but, more likely, discrimination within sexes plays a vital role in gender wage difference. There has not been any noteworthy variance in this situation, notwithstanding ladies coming out very tough to confront their male colleagues in well-paid careers like pharmacy, engineering, art, etc. Gender inequality is one of the aspects which affects daily routine life, interaction with different people and family life.
It mostly impacts work by the employment and positions that specific gender placements get and their pay rates. The gender gap also affects employment and unemployment rates. The progression of these gender gap weighs in unemployment from a long-run view and over the occupational run.
“The recession of March to November 2001 inaugurated the only period of sustained job loss for women in the past forty years, and the effects of the economic downturn continue to affect women's employment, unemployment, labor force participation, and wages even now, 43 months after the start of the recession” (1). It is essential to go to the baseline of the problem to understand the true magnitude, so that we can prevent on variables such as discrimination, employee partiality, career planning, and time went through on family care. If the problem resolves, there is going to be a positive impact on society.
