

Gender Is the Biological Composition of a Man or a Woman Essay Example
Sex is the biological differences between a man and a woman and is both internal and external. For instance, a man is different from a woman in the biological makeup, which includes the chromosomal makeup, chemical composition and organ formation. Men tend to have an Adams apple, which is missing women because of the chemical makeup. From birth, the private organs of small boys are different from that of girls. Boy’s organs are protruding outwards while those of a girl are formed on the inside. As the child grows up difference are clearly visible such as menstruation in girls because of the hormonal composition. Sex is the biological composition of a man or a woman and the composition is different between the two.
Gender is the characteristics that the society refers to as masculine
...or feminine. Gender is the state of being a male or a female and is often used to mean the social or cultural differences between males and females. For instance, in most Latin American countries, females are considered as the people who should cook for the family. Females identify with cooking or kitchen chores in the specific society. Doing makeup was considered for females, thus in the Latino culture females identify with makeup.
Gender roles are a set of beliefs in a given society for females or males as to what they should do and what they should not do. For instance, in Africa it is the role of the woman or female gender to take care of children while the males go out hunting. This kind of tradition defines clearly what a woman should do and the man should do. Traditional gende
roles for women were meant to be nurturing while those for men were leadership. With time, the traditional roles have changed as women are taking on leadership and men are taking to nurturing. For instance a lady can qualify for a top leadership post and a man can do a job as a nanny due to their passion for taking care of children.
Gender identity is the personal experience of someone being male or female. One can have the gender identity of a man, woman or both or none. Gender identity may be the same as their sex and in other times it might be different. Most people get their gender identity at a young age of up to 5 years and after that one cannot change their identity. For instance, a boy might not identify with being male at an early age and might identify more with the girls. Science has advanced and one can change their sexual orientation so as to identify with a given gender. For instance, males can transgender become women, thus they can identify with being female other than being males with a female identity.
Gender role ideology is the view of a person or society towards the role of women in society. Women are moving from being considered to belong to the kitchen and are fighting for their equality in society. The society is slowly changing how they viewed women and women are getting educated and getting into political positions and leadership positions which the society reserved for men. For instance, Clinton is contending for the presidency and if she wins, she will be the first woman to become president in
America. The society is changing its perspective on women’s roles.
