Understanding people's learning styles and effective teaching methods can inspire and motivate them. Gardener's theories offer valuable insights into their personalities and strengths, which are easily understandable and applicable in different educational and training settings, improving the learning process. By combining various intelligences, we can often find the best approach to educate and train individuals globally.
Linguistic Intelligence is the intelligence that encompasses language and words, including learning through writing or absorbing information through hearing words. Spatial Intelligence involves mentally visualizing or picturing what is being taught. On the other hand, Musical Intelligence involves learning by listening to music or absorbing information more efficiently when music is playing.
Now, the Bodily-Kinesthetic Intelligence refers to the act of actually doing what is being taught. This type of intelligence involves a h
...ands-on approach. On the other hand, Interpersonal Intelligence occurs when you can learn about a person or situation by observing the vibes emitted by another person involved in the situation. It also encompasses learning better through interactions with others, such as working on group projects or studying with a partner. Additionally, Interpersonal Intelligence involves relying on oneself to learn, understanding one's own feelings and interests.
People who possess Interpersonal Intelligence tend to be independent learners. Logical Mathematical Intelligence, on the other hand, emphasizes learning through patterns and reasoning, often relying on facts to solve problems, and also requires logical and sensible information. Among the Seven Intelligences proposed by Howard Gardner, I personally find Linguistic and Bodily-Kinesthetic intelligences to be the most influential in my life. When I am trying to learn or absorb information, I need to both hear the words and read them simultaneously
to effectively comprehend.
I download audio files of my text books and take thorough notes. When reviewing my notes, I make sure to read them aloud. Similar to the Bodily-Kinesthetic intelligence, I notice that this method also incorporates my Linguistic Intelligence. This is because I not only rely on visual and auditory cues, but also the act of physically writing down the information. The act of writing and mentally visualizing the words makes it easier for me to remember the material. This approach helps me study Gardner's theory in an effective and efficient manner.
