Eventually, due to accusations that his followers sacrificed human babies to supernatural entities, Crowley was expelled from Italy where he had established the Abbey of Thelema. During World War 1, he relocated the Abbey to America. In 1921, Crowley engaged in a strange sexual ritual involving a billy goat and his mistress which ended with the violent throat-slitting of the animal at climax. Instead of fearing what we do not know, we should keep an open mind towards new ideas before passing judgment. Learning about subjects that interest us and being unafraid of differing opinions are both essential practices. From my perspective, much of our fear stems from ignorance surrounding unfamiliar concepts or beliefs.
