The electronic industry is essential to all existing industries because of its constant development of new technology and provision of innovative solutions. Its progress in modern manufacturing has greatly benefited global industries. It should be noted that the electronic industry is heavily relied upon by other industries, and it's difficult to think of any products or services that are not linked or impacted by it.

Today's population craves products such as motor vehicles, personal computers, laptops, iPods, cellular phones, digital cameras and high definition TV sets. This has made the electronic industry the world's leading industry that caters to our needs (Maloney, 2003). The electronic industry has become a significant part of our everyday life and it would be difficult to imagine life without these electronic devices. Other industries that provide numerous services in the market are someho

w linked and connected to the electronics industry. As our dependency on electronics grows to usher in the information revolution we are experiencing now, the electronic industry will continue to prosper in the coming years.

In the past decade, the industry has shown remarkable growth, achieving sustainable rates along with satisfactory revenues and high employment figures. It is anticipated that substantial growth rates will persist for the next five years, or at least until 2015. As of 2006, the industry recorded a remarkable 9% increase worth $249 billion. This was followed by a 10% increase in 2007 to $274 billion (LaPedus, 2008). This year, a growth rate of approximately 10% was projected.

The Electronic and Semiconductor Industry Associations have announced a notable surge in the electronic industry, with an 8% increase resulting in $303.4 billion dollars. This upswing is anticipated t

persist over the next few years due to strong demand for digital cameras, high definition TV sets, MP3s, DVDs, and cellular phones which are currently dominating the market. The sales of cellular phones alone are expected to rise by 20%. Despite economic obstacles such as recession and energy crises, consumers continue to be projected by a consumer electronics industry group to buy gadgets.

Although my close friend works as a crew member at a large fast food chain and earns a low salary, he supports the stance of consumer groups. Despite making sacrifices and going hungry, he only purchases crackers while we enjoy scrumptious meals. He does this for six months to save enough money for purchasing a new video console and smartphone.

The impact of the electronic industry is far-reaching, affecting both our economy and entertainment. With millions of employees worldwide, its growth will undoubtedly have positive economic effects. The use of robots and mechanical arms in assembly lines has also increased production rates across various industries. Japan serves as a prime example, with central computer systems monitoring large-scale factories where robots do most of the work.

With Japan's population of over 65-year-olds exceeding one fifth, robots play a crucial role in replenishing the declining workforce (Adams, 2006). Additionally, the manufacture of robots has transformed the entertainment industry for children, with video games and consoles being a prevalent form of entertainment found in almost every household.

Developers have produced costly and speedy PCs intended for gamers, which offer an alluring and enjoyable experience. The gaming sector puts significant resources into enhancing the visual and audio quality to create an extraordinary gaming encounter. This technology has also

greatly advanced television programming and filmmaking by utilizing digital cameras, computer graphics, and special effects to make everything on the silver screen more realistic. Consequently, Hollywood has generated a plethora of blockbuster hits including sci-fi epics as well as adaptations of beloved comic book heroes such as Spider-Man, Iron Man, and The Incredible Hulk.

The impact of the electronic industry is evident in the Defense Industry, as the government invests in various devices and gadgets to protect the homeland. From homing devices to x-ray machines found in airports and docks, as well as modern warships, submarines, and tanks, the electronic industry collaborates with other agencies and companies to provide such products. Around 80% of the components and materials, including transistors, integrated circuits, and semi-conductors required by the government's Defense Industry are supplied by the electronic industry, as is the majority of equipment needed in telecommunications industries.

Despite the recession that is predicted in the coming years and the imminent energy crisis, it is undeniable that the industry will persist in expanding due to its development of new technology that greatly benefits the general public.
