Last Tuesday, I woke up early as it was my sixteenth birthday and I was very excited. Quickly I dressed for school and came downstairs. I went to the kitchen. I saw my mother was busy preparing breakfast as usual and my father was getting ready for work. My siblings also were busy as it was a school day. I was very disappointed. No one had remembered my birthday. I tried not to show my feelings and went to school. Even in school, my close friends seemed to have forgotten my birthday. That day was not like I thought. After recess, suddenly my English teacher, Puan Batrisya called me to go to the teacher’s room.
I was scolded by Puan Batrisya as my essay was not as
...good as before. I was asked to redo the essay in the teacher’s room after class dismissed. Then, I went to her classroom. I felt unhappy as I thought that that day would be the most wonderful day I ever had. After school, I did the essay as I was asked. I was in the classroom for two hours to finish my homework. After two hours, I finished the homework and gave it to my teacher. Then, I went to the outside of my school. I went to the telephone booth. I telephoned my father to ask him to fetch me quickly.
Unfortunately, my father cannot fetch me on time as he had to go for a meeting while my mother had an extra class at her school. My father said that I had to go home by taxi or by bus. I waited
patiently at the bus-stop until a bus came. I went home by bus. I arrived at my home ten minutes later. After I paid the fare, I remembered that I did not have key to open my house’s gate and door. I was very angry as I thought that it was an unlucky day for me as I faced a lot of problems in one day. Nothing I could do, I waited for my parents at the outside of my house.
Suddenly, Zarina, my neighbour came to me and told that my best friend, Wafa was involved by an accident at the park. I was so shocked and ran as fast as a rabbit to the park. When I arrived there, I saw that nothing happened. Then, I heard that there was sounds said “Happy Birthday, Lily! ”. They were my parents and siblings. Wafa then pulled my hand to go to the park and I saw a long table with food and huge cake. There were many balloons too. All the guest in my birthday party were my relatives, friends and teachers. I was speechless and touched as it was the most wonderful gift I ever had.
