My journey to attain higher level education was one met by challenges and many struggles. The quench for higher education made me sacrifice precious things like culture, friends, and my family. The chance to get educated was the best gift I received from my parents. This education would give me a purpose in life and make me venture into a world of limitless opportunities for success. From a young age, I knew I wanted to be an engineer. It meant that I had to top in all my classes at high school level if I was ever going to be admitted in any reputable institution of higher learning.

However, whenever they got a chance, they answered any questions I had in detail and helped me get an in-depth understanding of solutions. My determination during my primary education made me ace my university entry examination. I had made it and was ready to study my dream profession. I had no idea unending difficulty would mar my road from here.

After admission to college, my college fees became an expense that my parents could not foot. I needed rent pocket money, and better clothing. As a result, I had to find alternative funding to avoid calling off my semesters. My relatives paid tuition fees for me to kick off my first half. I

knew I had to find better stable funding considering my extended family was not financially stable. I wrote to the higher education loans board for consideration as a beneficiary of their annual student's loan. After going in and out of offices for half year and postponing a semester, I received my first student disbursement. I later split it to cater for my younger sister’s education. The loan was for my fees, and I had to work on part time as a mall cleaner to get some pocket money at night and on weekends.

When I registered at the school for the next semester, there was massive looting of the University property by students after they felt that an election was unfair. The ministry of education and higher learning issued an order to close the campus for six months. The rescheduling of my semester implied I had an extra semester in school. After resuming studies, later on, the learning environment was right and since I was a bright student I passed well in my tests. In my final year of education, the engineering board unaccredited particular engineering programs offered at the university. A major student strike with many fatalities followed. We were sent off by the Ministry for a year to give way for repairs. Luckily enough my engineering course was not affected like the rest. Even though it took me a year and a half longer to complete my higher education studies, I graduated with a perfect grade.
