Those people will e referred to as VII and CIO meaning Very Important People and Centers of Influence. These are people a recruiter should be in touch with so they know what the recruiter can do to help them and the community with events, as well as them knowing how the recruiter can help the people of the community with the programs the Army National Guard has to offer. It all comes down to these people having you in mind to help a recruiter gain leads. The recruiter should start with all the high schools; this is where most of your new recruits will come from.
The next areas focused on should be where high school kids hang out.
Places like; gyms, sporting goods stores, restaurants, malls, and book stores. Ensure these people always have a business card with re
...cruiter contact information on it, so they have the means to reach out with lead information. Be sure to keep the CIO/VII updated on progress with their leads. Its a positive reminder that good is happening on both sides. High schools are recruiters biggest lead generators.
A recruiters goal should be to make mission before the end of the school year.
That means a recruiter needs to put themselves where they will be seen by students, to maximize production and time management. For the best time management, find what works with your schooled events. Schedule office time, but be understanding to having to be flexible, and that time will need to be moved around. On days when doing a school visit, plan to visit local businesses and places where people gather.

Be aware of people that aren't able to join the National Guard, but understand hat they may refer someone to the Guard based on how a recruiter talked to them. An EAR should be conducted after each scheduled visit or event and also at the end of the week and reviewed by the recruiters IONIC. Taking the information from the Ear's and tracking productive and non- productive areas, places where RIP was left, and CIO/Pulps are the key points to being successful with area canvassing. If a recruiter is contacted by someone who says they saw some info about the Guard, the recruiter should ask and make note of the location.
