Have you ever watched a marvel or D.C movie? You probably have watched one. Evan though there are a lot of similarities, you might have wondered witch ones better. Today I will discuss some info about them such as: There history, There characters, and there success/witch is more popular.
Both D.C and marvel started in the 1930s, D.C getting the lead by 5 years. D.C launched its first comic Action Comic #1 featuring the most iconic superhero Superman in 1938 (Superman started the rise of the superhero era), while Marvel released their first comic one year later in 1939 featuring the human torch. Marvel started to struggle during the 50s and had to rely more on spies and funny animals to make some money, but D.C didn’t have to deal with that. In the 60s marvel became popular again with some new charac
...ters like spider-man and the fantastic four, but D.C started to fall behind in marvel’s sale. Then 30 years later in the 90s marvel filed for bankruptcy and the only way for them to stay alive was to introduce new products like trading cards.
Now that we talked a little about their history lets learn about what’s the difference with their characters. D.C has a smaller audience that’s focuses more on older people while marvel has a wider audience. Marvel has more relatable characters like (like spider-man, captain America, the fantastic four ect) while D.C has more god like powers. The setting that the D.C characters are set in is more fictional, likewise marvel has realistic places like New York.
Now there we talked about their history and differences let’s see which one is more successful?
Marvel is wildly successful in the movie industry, there was a survey that showed that 78% of people were engaged when shown the Guardians of the galaxy vol.2 trailer, but only 71% of people were engaged when showed the justice league trailer, showing that people reacted better when showed a Marvel trailer. D.C has stuck gold with T.V series, with the T.V series they understand the need to have a background of a character for example the series Gotham shows the origins of batman and how he’s come to be the dark knight we know today.in the end their both successful in their own way.
In conclusion marvel and D.C are both good at certain things. Ultimately it’s your choice to choose witch one is better. So who do you like more?
