Will the future give us what our dreams are? Will our goals be achieved soon? All these questions fall into one simple thing, goal setting. We must start to invest our time setting our goals not only to benefit ourselves but to benefit also the surrounding environment. What is this surrounding environment?

When we say surrounding environment, we mean the reality of life which is the society that gives us everything. When we say society, we mean people, interaction and it all boils down to organizations shaping our behavior. Just like people, organizations come in many shapes and sizes. We understand that the career path that we will take may include a variety of different organizations. In connection with this article, we can see that the Convergys’ performance mainly depends on the expertise and skills that their agents give for their company to prosper.

Quality service is what they give to attract more clients to place their operations on their company. The demand that their clients give to them serves as evidence that through their good management, they are able to go beyond their capacity. Through the information given above, the organizational behavior of their company can be analyzed thoroughly. The Convergys exist in a social system. When we say social system, we mean interaction of complex set of human relationships where organizations are able to operate when shared values exist among the employees.

Convergys is just a part of the whole system in the marketplace and are able to interact with the other parts of the social system that can really affect their behavior in many ways. Social systems are one of the contributory factors why an

organization behaves on a certain way. When Convergys decided to expand through hiring 4500 employees, they are just few steps away from their goal. That is making some functional changes which is, expansion. We can consider this change functional because it is favorable to the company.

Through this, Social equilibrium is also achieved by the company because both parties- the employees and the company- benefit from each other and there is a dynamic exchange of their expertise and activities. The company’s performance tells how they handle and manage their employees and activities within the workplace. We must say that the continuous demand of the clients towards their company is a way to show that they have a strong organizational culture as well as strong foundation of organizational values.

With these in hand, we can now see that their company has been conducting trainings to develop the potentials of their employees and motivates them with rewards and incentives. This can be evidenced by the “Wear Your Dreams” campaign that the company tries to advocate. Motivation really matters within the organization because it serves as a medium for their employees to work hard and perform better as well as give a quality work (which is the really heart of their company) that can help them achieve their goals which is “providing a superior service experience during every customer contact”.

It is evident that the foundations of the company are the individual values evolving into group and interacting into the society. The company cares about the individual values of their employees since they are one of the leading call center companies in the Philippines and they serve their clients directly through

telephone lines. They assure that their employees are well motivated for them to perform better and give quality service to their existing and future clients. Through this, well-structured organization can be attained. When we say well-structured organization, we mean good relationship of people within the organization.

The company uses technology to innovate their methods and operations to achieve an efficient performance which is mentioned in the last paragraph of the article that reads: All their facilities are closely integrated into their “Global Assurance Network”. It was said that this can give them the edge among the other competitors because this can enhance their flexibility in many ways. On my own opinion, the company believes that Filipinos have potentials to specialize on their own fields and their dreams can be fulfilled by helping our fellowmen to be employed.

The benefits will be on the economy itself because it can reduce unemployment within the country, it can also help the improvement of life of individual Filipinos that are being hired by the company and lastly, through the efforts, skills, talents and expertise of our fellowmen, the company can prosper in the business environment. Many organizations develop their capacity by enhancing their resources. These resources include the capital, land and most of all the labor. Labor force is usually the main concern of every organization since it comprises the whole system.

Without it, the system cannot function and perform efficiently. Climbing every mountain is a very long way but it would be shorter if we just know where to go and if we travelled on the right rack. Following our own rainbows may lead us to a pot of gold in

the other end, but what makes it more fulfilling is to endure it in different colors. And now, fulfilling our dreams is not difficult to achieve if we just have the inner life that drives us to work and strive hard to give what life asks. Because life is a matter of exchange, you give something and something is given back to you.
