Both Eisenhower and Truman served as presidents, that is, the 34th and 33rd presidents, but despite this, both had similar policies but also different in some ways. One of the similarities was that both had laid strategies to deal with the issue of communism (Parry?Giles, 1996). However, both had diverse actions of dealing with the issue of communism, their goal to curb the threat was similar. They both believed that communism was spreading at a high speed and wanted to cease it from spreading to other nations. As a result, both Truman and Eisenhower set strategies to prevent the spread of communism. The difference was that both strategies were different but aimed at the same goal.

the Soviet Union had planned to attack France and Britain. They both helped South Korea conquer the North Korea when they had invaded their country. The point is, both President Truman and President Eisenhower had the same goal of preventing the spread of communism but both had different policies to deal with the threat (Parry?Giles, 1996).

Compared to Truman, Eisenhower was more conformist and did not condemn Joseph McCarthy who was the senator during 1952 campaign (Wildavsky, 1998). Truman being a democrat wanted more reforms which led him to face many challenges in domestic affairs. Eisenhower was ranked highly amongst the former presidents of the US in regards to approval rating. He adhered to a conservative domestic policy.
