At the age of sixteen, I have a tendency to believe that I am constantly accurate and capable of responding to any inquiry with assurance. Nevertheless, while I consider this as self-assurance, my mother regards it as conceit.
There is a debate about whether I am confident or arrogant. However, as I commence the college application process, I am realizing that my confidence level is diminishing. It is the first instance where I feel uncertain and lack clear answers to questions concerning my future. Nevertheless, I have no doubt that I will go to college and believe that I will be accepted into my preferred universities.
The question of college choice, major selection, and career aspirations troubles me. During my childhood years from 3 to 12, I confidently aimed to become a baseball player or a broadcaster for the Los
...Angeles Dodgers. Moreover, I longed to attend a distant college. However, my perspective has changed as I matured. Presently, I aim to play baseball in college, and instead of broadcasting, I show interest in sports medicine as my specialization within the field of medicine.
As I contemplate my academic path, I am faced with the decision of pursuing a single major or branching out and exploring two disparate fields. Recently, I rediscovered my passion for playing the piano and while touring several colleges, I discovered the option to major in music. This has ignited a newfound interest in exploring another potential major. While uncertain if playing piano is my ultimate career aspiration or simply a hobby, I have determined that attending a college close to home is a priority unless accepted into my dream school, the Universit
of Notre Dame.
In the coming 18 months, I will need to determine my career path and preferred location. Deliberation, guidance from loved ones, educators, peers, and mentors will be essential for making the optimal choice. Though I may possess conceited tendencies reminiscent of my youth, I now acknowledge the inevitable obstacles that will prompt reflection on my ultimate aspirations.
