The importance of information technology in education has been acknowledged since ancient times. Education involves the transfer of knowledge from teachers to students, utilizing scientific advancements available during that era. In earlier times, tools like abacus and pebbles were used to teach basic science and mathematics, representing the technology of that period. Experts in specific fields facilitated education in those respective areas.
Similar practices existed during the Middle Ages, where apprenticeship was a means of educating individuals in traditional occupations and scholarly studies. Monks who were respected scholars at that time guided pupils in their studies. It is worth mentioning that this system already existed in India before the Middle Ages under a system called "Karakul," emphasizing the relationship between the "Guru" (teacher) and "Sashay" (student).The modern era of information technology began in

The third generation started in 1966 with the invention of the integrated circuit by Jack Kills at Texas in 1958. This generation included compact computers like IBM-370, DELL, and APPLE which were suitable for use at home, educational institutes and offices. Their simplicity made them ideal for education purposes.
Storing educational information became easier with the ability to store data o
compact discs (CDs), hard drives and floppy discs which facilitated easy access to digital format education materials. Nowadays computers allow users to search for information online using internet or other online programs while offline access is possible through CDs containing encyclopedias or dictionaries. Moreover LAN-equipped computers enable sharing of information between multiple devices within an institution.The introduction of projectors that display information on surfaces has had a significant impact on education. This technology allows multiple people to view the information simultaneously, revolutionizing community-based education. Companies like Deduced and Keen have capitalized on this trend by offering complete syllabus modules to educational institutions for a fee. As Information Technology continues to advance, the future of education looks promising with the potential introduction of robotic teachers tailored to each student's unique needs.
