In all humility, I am requesting to be readmitted into Kingsborough Community College for the Fall 2010 semester. I acknowledge my previous withdrawal was due to poor academic performance and a less than satisfactory GPA during the 2008 term. I fully understand that there is substantial opportunity for me to improve and elevate my academic standing.
My academic performance has been negatively impacted due to my hearing disability. I wasn't aware of the existence of an auditory assistance device referred to as the "FM system" even though I've had this condition for some time now. This piece of equipment can amplify a speaker's voice, thereby enhancing sound clarity. In the past semester, despite sitting close to the front during lectures, I faced difficulties in comprehending them clearly. Now that I know about the FM system, if given another opportunity
..., I am absolutely committed to making good use of this instrument. It is logical to assume that having access to such an aid could notably improve my academic outcomes.
Another reason for my underwhelming academic performance was the lack of Financial Aid in Fall 2008. This hurdle hindered me from obtaining crucial study resources, resulting in a delay compared to my classmates. Undeniably, this situation put me at a disadvantage. Nonetheless, I am optimistic that if given another chance, I will not encounter such an issue again.
After finishing my last semester at Kingsborough, I underwent an approximately four-month course at the highly regarded Grace Institute, famous for its business-related programs. During this time, I had the opportunity to refine my abilities in computer literacy, business communication, administrative procedures, maths and
data handling.
As I gear up to continue with my academic pursuits, I aim to enrol in fewer courses to concentrate better on them. My plan is to make use of the tutorial services offered at the Accessibility Center. It's imperative for me to achieve grades A and B to maintain good academic performance. A crucial lesson from the previous semester that merits acknowledgment is how my setbacks served as a reality check. I've come to understand how to sidestep hurdles that interfere with my concentrated study time. I can objectively evaluate them and then decide to utilize my better judgment.
