As a Cultural Anthropology major, I believe that studying abroad would be of great importance. I know that the experiences I will encounter will affect my future career. My interests were widespread, and I wanted to learn about different cultures. Studying of such was part of my academic area of concentration. As an Asian Studies major, I decided to start with China. I was born and raised in the Republic of Korea, but I have never been to China.

...o my advantage to be in the country and experience, at the same time, understand its culture. I have been preparing for this study program for the past three years. I mastered the Chinese language for three years to hone myself more.
In addition to this, I took four culture emphasis classes about China. These classes would help me to learn more about the country, and make new discoveries. The knowledge that this school will give me will be of great help in the fulfillment of my desire to excel in my chosen field. New perspectives will be created not only through lectures from Emory, but also the day-to-day experiences that I will have throughout my duration of stay in the university.
