Emirates Star as the CEO of Guard Indonesia actually always does his work and task professionally and he always shows that he enjoys his work no matter what the task is. He wants that his work and output comes great by putting his effort, thus the innovation will come out automatically.

Since Emirates is the CEO of Guard Indonesia, he has already got this position. Second level: Permission This leader lead base on relationship. People permit him to influence other or because they like him. However, a leader cannot only lead people who like him, he has to lead everyone as his responsibility.

Emirates is a very friendly leader and not easy to tired and give up his work. Therefore everyone likes him. Third Level: Production In this level, someone is a leader and everyone follow him because he is productive, he pick productive people and together they create great outputs.

Emirates is best in this level, since he bring his company to a big success and it's proven by the achievement by Guard Indonesia in his era.

There are 4 code of leadership, Based on my research on Emirates leadership, he's a strategist and an executor. Since he's the one that have the idea to change Guard Indonesia managerial, finance, and operational to be more cost efficient in order to survive from crisis.

He thinks about the long term strategic for Guard including planning and organizing. Moreover, he's also an executor since he always delivers great performance and output.

Superiority

A leader should have superiority which consist of character, competence, commitment, contribution and closeness to god Character

Leadership character should be integrity, forward looking and inspiring other. Emir has an integrity shown in Guard priority for transparency.

By transparency, honesty is boosted thus people can feel more secure doing business

with Guard. Second, Emir is also forward looking when he was first appointed as Guard CEO, he visualized that the company must transform to be the number one airline in the nation. Then, Emir also inspires others. He makes everyone in Guard understand the vision of success because he knows that he can't do it alone. He needs the whole Guard team to achieve success. Competence

Emir has a high qualified competences based on his past experiences.

He works in various companies in top position. It's clear that he was trusted by other companies not only Guard to lead because he has competences. Thus, his competence isn't questionable. Commitment Emir has a strong determination to turn Guard from an unprofitable company to become profitable and even achieved numerous awards. He is committed to transforming Guard because he realized that as an Indonesian he must help the nation's company. His commitment lies beyond his own interest. He even thinks about the country.

Contribution

Emir shows a real contribution through making Guard a four star rated favorite and trusted airline both domestically and internationally. Those titles are won by hard work and real changes in the company. For example, Emir made Guard treatable internationally by sponsoring Liverpool commercials and buying new fleets to create Closeness to God It can be seen that Emir closes to God because he always be grateful to every opportunity he can get. Leadership Impact Leadership impacts are fourfold, impacts to the organization to individual, to greater society, and to leaders themselves. Emir definitely creates impacts to all four.

He changes Guard and moves it forward, he motivates staffs in Guard to be leaders and

become a team to achieve a shared vision , he brings a good reputation to Indonesia through a strong aviation industry, and he certainly brings his own reputation to the top. Conclusions After comparing those two of great leaders in Indonesia. We can see a lot of similarities that they have in their leadership practices. Although each leader is different in their own unique ways (different in their field of work), leaders have the same basic traits and pattern. Leaders have superiority and they give influence to there.

Thus from the similarities we can learn what it takes to be a good leader. Moreover, The great man theory said that to be a good leader we could study the biography and experiences of existing accomplished great leader. By analyzing the experience of Harry Tango and Emirates Star leadership, we are already applying the great man theory. We're one step closer to become a good leader ourselves since we have learnt Harry Tango and Emirates Star leadership characteristics. But then again, we always have to remind ourselves to apply what we have learnt in daily live to create a real impact for others.
