As her seven fortunate grandchildren, we were privileged to have shared our lives with this extraordinary individual. She was more than just a typical bossy grandmother; she was also a shopping partner, cooking companion, and confidant. Countless memories will forever be cherished: her heartfelt prayers every time one of us left; her booming voice that could be heard even from the cellar when she called us for dinner; and her special kadi chawal she would make for me.
